Does this make sense to you?
During the summer between grade 2 and grade 3, I borrowed Anne of Green Gables from the library and started reading it, but didn't finish it so when I saw it at my school library, I borrowed it and finished reading it. At that school, we had to read a certain number of specially marked books and then take a multiple choice quiz on the computer so the teacher knew that we read and understood it. Anne of Green Gables was one of the books that had a test for it so I figured since I'd already read it, why not take the test just to get one out of the way. I did well on the test, somewhere between 80 and 90%, yet later, my teacher called me over to her desk and said that Anne of Green Gables was a grade 8 level book and forbid me to borrow anything over a grade 3 level. so I was stuck reading Pony Pals and Animal Ark for the rest of the year. Does this seem reasonable to you? Can you think of any reason why she might have done this? I know this seems silly because it was ages ago (I'm in grade 11 now), but that ruined my year...well, that and the fact that I got a deadly disease and had to spend a week at a hospital in another city...but still. I went home and cried that night because I'd gotten in trouble for something i didn't even know was something I wasn't supposed to do and I wasn't allowed to read the books I wanted to anymore. So...just tell me what you think about this.
