How do u keep the stitches from coming loose that u make on the Knit & Gem machine?

I need to know how to finish up the stitches from this knit machine. Bought from a thrift store with no instructions..It knits beautifully but they come right out when I pull them. Is there a way to lock this stitch? Has anyone used this to make scarves? Can someone please help....
