Best way to become a commercial pilot?

My fiance wants to be a pilot more than anything. If he can't find a way to become a commercial pilot, then he will try for Air force but we would love any information about flight schools in the United States where you can get a full ride or a lot of scholarships. We can't afford to send him to ATP although he would love to go there. ATP guarantees an instructor job, are there other affordable schools that guarantee a job? Or if anyone has a better solution please please share.
